After having a packed breakfast Proceed to Wilpattu National Park (Have the early morning Game Drive in a 4X4 Safari Jeep)

The Wilpattu National park is huge compared to Yala National Park and it is a thick Jungle consists of a network of small to large lakes called Willus. These lakes are important biodiversity hotspots frequented by many varieties of birds. Roads are challenging to handle hence the drive is very bumpy. As the jungle is thick it is difficult to spot the animals compared to Yala and Udawalawe National Parks.

After lunch Proceed to Anuradhapura & visit the Archeological Site

Anuradhapura is the first capital of Sri Lanka from 5th C.B.C to 10th C.A.D the remains of 15 centuries as a capital is found in a vast area. From smaller monuments such as Thuparama and Lankarama to gigantic, 400-foot high Jetawana Dagaba, Abhayagiriya and Ruwanweliseya and the most sacred Bo-tree, (Ficus Religious) well guarded up to this day, are found here.

There are statues; remains of Palaces, Ponds, Temples, Shrines, Alms Halls, Meditation Centers, Old statues, Monasteries, Pleasure gardens and a large number of other monuments are found at Anuradhapura.

After breakfast Proceed to Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa was the medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th - 13th C.A.D Great revival was achieved in the country, politically, economically and socially during the period of Kings Vijayabahu Parakramabahu and Nissankamalla of the Polonnaruwa period.

After lunch Proceed to Dambulla (Golden Temple & Rock Caves)

Dambulla is famous for the five cave Temples on a rock. The first 3 caves are better, older and larger than the other two. Some caves dates to 1st C.B.C. All the 5 cave walls and ceilings are covered with Buddhist murals and three are more than 130 Buddha statues, statues of Gods and Kings are also found here.

After breakfast Proceed to Sigiriya

King Kassapa (477-495 A.D) who shifted the Capital from Anuradhapura to Sigiriya made a fortress to surround his palace, which was constructed on the summit of a 500ft high rock, with necessary facilities.

The Palace was surrounded by an outer-moat and wall and Inner - moat and Wall, pleasure garden, Mirror-wall, light coloured and dark coloured damsel's frescos, to cover the western wall and a beautiful staircase through the body of Crouching Lion are some of the attractions here.

The boulder garden consists of caves where Buddhist Bhikkus lived and meditated. After Kassapa Sigiriya was given back once again to the Bhikkus.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa)

The Old Suspension Bridge, The Tea Museum, Garrison War Cemetery, The Gem Studio, Upper Lake Drive (View Point), The Batik Factory, The Woodcarving Factory, The Tea Plantation & the Factory, Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue & In the evening view the cultural dance festival (5 pm- 6 pm)

After having an early breakfast Proceed to Pinnawala (The Elephant Orphanage)

Pinnawala - App. 90Kms from Colombo, off Colombo-Kandy road, is Pinnawala, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants. The number of elephants has increased now, including baby elephants brought from various parts, as well as the babies born, as a result of the captive breeding program. The best time to visit is the feeding time from 0930-1000 hrs and 1330-1400 hrs and the bathing time from 1000-1030hrs and 1400-1430 hrs when all the elephants are taken to the river close by.

After lunch Proceed to Kandy

En-route visit The Royal Botanical Gardens - 147 acres in extent; Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of trees and plants. Some rare and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world. Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourists.

After having an early breakfast Proceed to Kithulgala (White Water Rafting)

Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. A rain forestry area, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in Sri Lanka. Nevertheless, Kitulgala comes alive in the first three months of the year, especially in February, the driest month. The Academy Award-winning movie, The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala, although nothing remains now except the concrete foundations for the bridge. Kitulgala is the base for white-water rafting in Sri Lanka.

Activities can be done in Kithulgala as follows;

White water rafting, Waterfall abseiling, Rain forest trails, Flatwater rafting, Waterfall trekking, Confidence jump & stream slides, River expeditions and many more.

After finishing activities, Proceed to the hotel in Kithulgala, drop guests & stay overnight in the same Hotel
